(1) Introduction:
Madou Shueikutou has taken up a legendary reputation due to the saying Longhou Chu Huangdi (An Emperor shall come from the Dragon's Throat). Recent studies have confirmed that Shueikutou was the remains of Old Madou Harbor. The site is now home to Taiwan's only truly authentic traditional harbor structure. A total of two years was invested to plan the establishment of the Madou Old Harbor and Cultural Park to recreate its historical prosperity. The Daofong Lagoon Museum is located within Old Madou Harbor Cul-tural Park, and is regarded as one of the few archaeological exhibits in Taiwan. Museum designs have incorporated both features of the Pingpu and Han peoples, with the diagonal lines and red brick walls representing the confluence of Han and Pingpu cultures. Old Madou Harbor was once a busy commerce port. Hence, the entire Museum was constructed like a boat sailing from the old harbor to the ocean.
